The main research interests of the Institute are voltage-dependent ion channels, primarily sodium and potassium channels.  In the last few years we have concentrated on two topics, the role of S4 transmembrane segments in voltage sensing, and the interaction between permeation and gating. This is not a comprehensive list of work. If you would like to submit a reprint request for any of our works, please email Mary Ryan.
